What Happened Here?
The GPA told all Driver's Licence Testing Centers (DLTC)
on 10 July '06 to utilise all available test appointments.
THIS INSTRUCTION IS NOT BEING COMPLIED WITH.
In July '07 as an experiment,
Email bookings were allowed. An Email booking was done directly through the
Test Center. Sadly this was discontinued but for the first time in FIVE
YEARS the center was filled nearer to capacity.
An instruction from the
Gauteng Provincial Administration (GPA) was sent out At last we received a letter indicating that someone at least was listening and finding a sensible solution.
The test grounds were so empty they took on a death-like quality while everyone was asking us every moment of
every day how they could get an appointment to be tested for some urgent reason. However, for reasons known
only to the authorities, the instructions contained in this letter
have not been carried out for more than a
year and still the test centres are not filled to capacity.
